The areas of interest include: architecture, art, computer science, cultural studies, design, education, film studies, marketing, media studies, museums, photography, psychology, semiotics, among other topics. The members of this knowledge community include researchers, designers, artists, photographers, film makers, painters, educators, policy makers, public administrators, and other professionals. Scholars meet in person every year thanks to the international Congress and formal communication keeps alive thanks to the associated scholarly journal.

International Congress

This knowledge community of scholars is highly international and multicultultural, members come from all over the world. The International Congress on Visual Culture has been held in Berlin, Germany, in 2014, and Berkeley, San Francisco, USA, in 2015. This international congress is a place for the formal exchange of best practices and ideas, and welcomes young researchers, postdocs, and graduate students, as well as leading scholars. Those who can not attend the congress may prefer to submit a manuscript for review and possible publication in the associated scholarly journal.
